Gallery - History - Vele Scampia

The “Vele di Scampia” is a residential complex built in Naples from 1962 to 1975.
The name comes from its triangular shape, which resembles a sailboat.
The building was designed by the architect Francesco di Salvo; over time it became a disreputable neighbourhood and a site of illicit trades. Four of these buildings were demolished in 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2020.
